- Burn the Pain, Trip Cyclone
These words haunt you as you step into complete and utter darkness. The melody is lilting, yet haunting. The words strike a chord in you, yet you know not why. They echo only once, then fade, but you feel them sear into your mind as you continue in the darkness. Suddenly, a soft voice echos from the nothingness, but what it says, you cannot be sure. But now, out of nowhere, you can see ahead of you . . .
The Vampire Catacombs
At the bottom of the stairwell you find yourself in a small foyer. There are two tunnels in front of you...one angles down steeply and the other veers right and slopes downward slightly...which do you choose?
If you continue straight, you will come upon . . .
The Main Hall -- follow the passage on the right into a very large, circular room lit by wall torches that cast an eternal glow on the people that you see...the smoke rises to the roof of tree roots above. There is a large, thick, curved oak table that is opposite the doorway. The table is ancient and has a large staff set into the front edge. There are smaller tables scattered throughout the room along with a few couches and comfy chairs.
The Walls --On the wall behind the table hangs an ornate tapestry. The Deep Red background off sets the Black-Winged Dragon that circles the Black Rose. The red eyes of the dragon glow brightly in the torchlight as if it were alive. Toward the left hangs an old coat of arms depicting three Silver Wolves heads on a crimson background and on the right you see two large broad-swords hanging on the wall crossing each other, their points almost touching the ceiling.
The Altar --In the center of the room is a pedestal that holds a single crystal rose surrounded by a wreath of ivy. Next to the rose is a basin of what appears to be bloody water...these are sacred instruments that belong to one of the Catacomb patrons and should not be disturbed unless you are given permission.
If you turn right, you come upon . . .
The Hallway into the Deep Catacombs -- The second passageway from the foyer leads deep into the catacombs. If you choose to venture down this passage, be warned that there are many twists and turns to lose your way. We are still expanding the catacombs and may never finish. There are anti-rooms, chambers and other tunnels that branch off the main passage. If you discover any dead-end passages, you have run into one of the areas of new construction...and you are lost. If you enter the depths of the Lost Catacombs, you are food for the Towar that live there and there is little hope...
Enjoy your stay.
